Address Fiasco:
I was afraid to have all the packages shipped to my home because
I am never home during the day and there would be nobody there
to sign for them. So I decided to have the packages all sent to
my PRIVATE MAIL BOX at one of those Mail Box Etc. locations. I
had a mailbox there for awhile, but I seldom use it.
When I provided shipping details for my degree, I inadvertently
provided ALL the schools with the wrong address. The way this
was discovered was when I received a telephone message (and
subsequent e-mail) from Almeda University stating that
the package was returned to them for WRONG ADDRESS. When I
realized what I had done, I contacted all the schools by e-mail
on 11/11 and provided the corrected address.
The address correction was made and the packages from Almeda,
Belford, Rochville and Suffield were
properly redirected and received. Almeda stated that the
package was sent overnight originally, but since it was returned
to them undeliverable, it would go standard UPS ground back to
me unless I wanted to pay for overnight shipping again. I
refused so the package then took 6 days to get to me. Neither
Belford or Rochville had sent the package yet, so I
caught them in time. They subsequently sent the package to my
corrected address. The Suffield package was on the way
back to them -- and they were able to contact the shipper and
have the address corrected and turned around back to me.
Glendale - I originally paid them on 10/27. I sent
them the e-mail regarding the corrected address the same day as
I contacted the other schools on 11/11. I still didn’t receive
the package so I wrote them on 11/25 and again on 11/29 when I
hadn’t heard from them. On 11/30, they wrote: “Madison we are
trying to get the package to you, you supplied the wrong
address...let me track it again and I will get back to you.”
I wrote again on 12/8. On 12/10, I received this reply. “The
package was delivered on 12/4 at 12:02 pm. signed by Gwynn",
and they even gave me the tracking number. I went there and
questioned Gwynn and she looked again for the package and it
wasn’t there. She claims she doesn’t know what happened. I
didn’t get the package. I never got the package. So I checked
the tracking numbers on the other packages and, sure enough,
the tracking number they gave me was for the Suffield
package. (Not only are they running two colleges, they can’t
keep their own tracking numbers straight). I wrote them back on
12/27 and informed them of that and they wrote me and asked me
to call them. I wrote back and said to just send the correct
package to me. I am now waiting for their reply. Update -- January 3, 2007. Still no package from Glendale. UPDATE:
January 9, 2007. The Glendale diploma package arrived today.
It was shipped from New Jersey just like the Suffield package.
Today is EXACTLY TWO MONTHS TO THE DAY since I paid them.
Redding - I originally paid them on 11/6. I sent
them the e-mail regarding the corrected address the same day as
I contacted the other schools on 11/11. I hadn’t received the
package yet, so I wrote them on 11/25. They wrote back on 11/28
with the UPS tracking info, so I called them on 11/30 to
reschedule delivery. They told me the package was returned to
Redding and I’d have to contact them. I wrote again on 12/8
and 12/18. I still haven’t heard back from them and I still
haven’t received the package I paid for. January 3, 2007. Still no package from Redding.
January 14 sent one more e-mail. NOTHING!
