Approval Process

At first, I wanted to see if these schools actually looked at the information that was submitted or they just provided bogus approvals based on anything that I wrote. So rather than completing an application with real experiences, I first tried to feed them bogus information. To see who accepted the BOGUS stuff, take a look at the Bogus Approvals page.

When I first applied to all these schools, I listed the following: “I work real hard for long time at Dairy Queen” or simply “I work real hard at Dairy Queen.” Nothing else! Just those 10 or 7 words. If I wasn’t accepted with that statement, then I provided my real resume.

Almeda

When I applied, I experienced some glitches. When I missed entering my phone number, my application was rejected and said I need the phone number. All the info I’d typed in was deleted and I had to start all over again, which was very frustrating. But I did it anyway. I listed as experience what I listed for all the other 6 colleges: “I work real hard for long time at Dairy Queen.” I received a response the next day that I was denied a degree. Here is their reply:“Thank you for your interest in Almeda University. While you may have excellent learning experiences, you do not clearly demonstrate this on the evaluation form. In order to meet the criteria for consideration by us for equivalency of knowledge gained to college level academic work, we will need to see many years of growth and progression in a particular area of expertise with a previous college base for which we could consider accepting as credit toward a degree. We recommend you consider attending a traditional college or other institution so that you can gain college credits toward your objective. We wish you much success.”

On 10/15, I reapplied. I had more trouble doing so. Like I said, my entire application info was deleted because it said I need to list the phone number. So I had to reenter everything.

When I reapplied, I gave them my real resume. I also gave my real resume to Glendale, Redding and Suffield when I reapplied there. On 10/16, I received an email from Almeda saying I was approved. Furthermore my qualifications were good enough for two degrees (bachelor and master). I did not want two degrees. Only one. Also the website says, “We accept MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Personal Check, Money Order, or PayPal,” I could not find anywhere to click for money order payment instructions. So I wrote them for instructions on how to pay by money order for one degree, not two. I received a prompt reply and everything was straightened out.

Belford

On 9/25 I applied for a degree. I listed as experience what I listed for all the other 6 colleges: “I work real hard for long time at Dairy Queen.” Unlike all the other colleges, they automatically and immediately approved me. I didn’t get a message saying they’d review my resume. They just approved me on the spot, which clearly indicates it doesn’t matter what my qualifications are or aren’t. They approved me instantly and sent me directly to their payment page after submitting my info. Here is their message: “Your Order Reference number is 8615091. Don’t forget to mention this order reference number at the back side of your check to avoid any discrepancies. Your check must be made payable to ‘Education Services Provider’. Please note that we will not be able to process your order until your check is cleared from bank. Your order will be processed within 2-3 days of receiving your money order/check. We are sending you an email that contains all the instructions about sending your check/money order.”

Colton

As previously stated, I never got a degree from them because they ignored all my e-mails and there was no way of contacting them.

Glendale

I applied on 9/26. I listed as experience what I listed for all the other 6 colleges: “I work real hard for long time at Dairy Queen.” I didn’t hear from them so I wrote them back on 10/5. I still hadn’t heard back from them, so I decided to reapply on 10/12. I filled out their whole form and when I clicked to submit, I received this message. The following required items are incomplete: An account already exists with the e-mail address you provided. Please click here to retrieve your password or enter a different e-mail address to proceed.

When I clicked “click here,” nothing happened. So I couldn’t reapply and they were not answering my emails. So I decided to write them and tell them of my problem. As it turns out, their email address is the same as Suffield’s, so they’re obviously the same company running two colleges. On 10/12, I received a simple email reply saying I could now submit another application. So I did and it went smoothly.

Redding

It was a simple and easy application. I listed as experience what I listed for all the other 6 colleges: “I work real hard for long time at Dairy Queen.”, but didn’t hear back so I wrote them again on 10/5 and still didn’t hear back, so I reapplied on 10/12 using my real resume. No problem reapplying. On 10/16, I was approved.

Rochville

Their application was easy and didn’t take more than 5 minutes. I listed as experience what I listed for all the other 6 colleges: “I work real hard for long time at Dairy Queen.” The next day I got an email back saying I was approved for a degree. Here is the message: “Congratulations Madison! We are pleased to announce that on the basis of your resume submitted by the Students’ Counselor, the 10-member evaluation committee at Rochville University has finally approved you for Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.” Fascinating! It took a 10-member committee to evaluate my 10 words of experience.

Suffield

When I applied, I listed as experience what I listed for all the other 6 colleges: “I work real hard for long time at Dairy Queen.” Suffield denied my application based on the Dairy Queen experience. Here is what they wrote: “sorry you were declined into our program. You did not fill out the application with enough information to demonstrate the knowledge to be approved into our program. If you would like to reapply please do so at www.suffielduniversity.vom.” Notice that they didn’t capitalize “sorry” and that they mistyped .com as “.vom.” So that’s pretty sloppy. Anyway, I reapplied on 10/11/06, using my real resume. On 10/13, I received an email saying I’m approved.
